Fast improvement usually requires to look at the obvious opportunities.
You stand in front of that tree, have limited time, and wish to take as much of fruits with you as you possibly can … what will you do … you will go for that obvious thing “focus on the low hanging fruit” right ?
In business, this is more of less the same … improving KPI’s, financials, customer satisfaction or any other topic that is problematic will require you to focus.
The more you are time constraint, the more you will be forced to go for the low hanging fruit i.e. perform an 80/20 analysis looking at those few factors or issues that are causing the majority of the issue.
The bottom line … do not spend initial time re-inventing the wheel … focus on a quick top-down data analysis and remove those obvious painpoints … be amazed.
